Founded by Michael Haskins Jr. in Baltimore, Maryland, in 2021, Heather Grey is an artist-run gallery and platform for identifying and showcasing primarily self-taught artists residing in and around the Baltimore area. The Gallery grew organically from Haskin's designer brand, Currency Studio, as a larger expression of its guiding aesthetic, with inspiration taken from the interplay between art and architecture.

While the Gallery's roots are in Baltimore, its scope is not limited to self-taught or local artists. Rather, Heather Grey houses unique shows that involve a variety of artists and new works that wouldn’t by nature be in the same room or conversation. This process of collecting the old with the new, the emergent with the established, and the local with the non-local is a hallmark of our curatorial vision.
